My internship is coming to an end!
I cannot believe that my internship is almost over! I have 8 days left! That is just unreal! When I think about it, I am not sure I really want to accept that it is ending; I am dreading how much I am going to miss my kids. I knew it would fly by, but I didn't know I would find it so hard to let my kids go! Anyway, I am really posting to write about what I am doing next week and I am really excited about it.(And proud that part of it is my original creativity and not something I downloaded on Pinterest!) Test preperations have begun at my school so we have built time into our day for EOG groups. I have my own group and I decided I wanted to do something special for them for several reasons. 1.) They are working super hard and I want this to be a time for them to really learn, but have a little fun as well. 2.) Although I want them to be able to relax, it is still super important that they are focused and on task so they are well prepared for the EOGs. Finally 3.) I am leaving my group for a week when I go on my honeymoon so I feel kind of bad :( So, I making some incentives for them for good behavior, on task behavior, participation, and use of testing strategies. I am going to have a few cute little sayings with test strategy reminders on them attached to a snack or treat. I know many teachers do this on test days, but since I am not sure what I will be doing because I am an intern on those days, I am doing it now and I can save the printable I am making for next year when I know I will be with my kids on test days. I will post pictures of them once I make them!

First Official Piece of My Own Classroom!
Hi all! After joining Pinterest recently, I decided to create a blog for my future classroom. I wanted to follow all the awesome blogs I was finding, so I decided to go ahead and make my own. From all the advice I am hearing it's good to go ahead and get things done early if you can since your first year is so hectic anyway! So, this is my first official piece of my own classroom! I may post about some things my students are doing now in my student teaching, but ultimately I want this blog to serve as a way to showcase what my students are doing as well as serve as a form of parent/teacher/student communication. I want add a "Homework" and "Parent Resources" tab when I get my own class!
